When PNC acquired several FirstBank locations across the Denver metro, an opportunity emerged for a competitor to reach a very specific audience at a very specific moment. KeyBank partnered with Outdoor Promotions to do exactly that.
The strategy centered on placing bus shelter ads near FirstBank branches undergoing the transition.
Rather than reaching a broad general audience, the campaign identified a specific group of consumers at the precise time and place they were most likely to consider their banking options. That is hypertargeting at its most effective.
Bus shelter advertising delivers something traditional broad-reach media cannot: the right message, in the right place, at the right moment.
Out of Home a Great Value
Out of Home bulletins, posters and transit shelters have a CPM or cost per thousand impressions which is cheaper than the other kinds of media. Mobile display and general digital display ads are the only things which are cheaper but they struggle with viewability, ad fraud and ad blocking.
